I asked about that. It's because of Apple. The rep for MOGA said that these Bluetooth controllers would work on iOS if Apple allowed them. No word on when that's happening.
To be fair, there's been compilations since Super Nintendo, and you can bet that they'll be re-released on every new system to come out.
That's pretty much what I was thinking when I wrote this. The "stripped down" version would be the "free" one.
There is game center support for the iPad version.

When I interviewed Magic brand manager Adam Dixon at PAX East he said yes to iPad multiplayer but couldn't give any specifics.

Which version was that? The big problem with this year's iteration was that you had to pay almost the cost of a retail game just for the cards. Wizards fixed that with this expansion.
